Roberto was knowledgeable, kind and fun! He toured our group of 16 through Noto, Ragusa, Modica and Ortigia. Every single person in my group had the best things to say about Roberto. I would recommend him to anyone interested in learning about and enjoying the Noto Valley of Sicily.

For us the Montalbano series was the immediate cause for a visit to Sicily. To our delight Montalbano’s home, located on the sea front in Punta Secca, is now a B&B, and we managed to book one of its rooms for a couple of nights. In addition we asked Roberto for a guided tour to other locations from the series. In three hours he took us to places in beautiful Ragusa Ibla and Scicli, often illustrating with stills where certain scenes were shot. But the tour was more than just Montalbano. Roberto turned out to be passionate about the history and the architecture of these cities, which greatly added to the experience of walking the streets to all those oddly familiar places. Our best experience was entering the police station of the fictional Vigata (Scicli), which is still the way it was during filming. It was as if we entered the series ourselves, as if we could run into Montalbano, Fazio, Mimí or Catarella at any moment. In short, Roberto is an ideal guide. He is both a professional and a nice guy, his English is excellent and he knows all there is to know about Montalbano and the locations used in the series. Highly recommended.
